The brief introduction

Norsk Kinesisk Ingeniørforening (NKIF) is a non-profit, professional association and dedicated to providing professional networking opportunities and promoting technology application. It is founded in 2014 and is open to all professionals in Oil & Gas, Maritime and other relevant industries. The NKIF members include engineers, professors, research scientists, university postgraduate and undergraduate students etc.

-To promote the professional network and collaboration both within NKIF and with other associations

-To encourage experience and knowledge sharing

-To support professional development

-To strengthen cooperation between industries and academia world widely

Board of committee

The Board of Committee manages the daily operation of NKIF. The Board of Committee consist the following Responsibilities:

President

Chief Secretary 

Vice President – in charge for External Communication

Vice President – in charge for Technology (Technical Events, Seminar)

Vice President – in charge for Internal Communication

Vice President – in charge for Finance

Vice President – in charge for IT /membership

The first Board of Committee is comprised by the following persons:

Xiaogang Tao Vice President – in charge for External Communication

Jun Liu Vice President – in charge for Technology (Technical Events, Seminar)

Yanlin Shao Vice President – in charge for Internal Communication

Sanyu Ye Vice President – in charge for Finance

Yihui Xu Vice President – in charge for IT /membership

Duties of Board Members

-The president and other board members are in charge of the work and functioning of all committees according to policies listed in this constitution and shall execute all decisions authorized in the Member Meeting.

-The Chief Secretary coordinates the work of the president, the vice president, and the board members.

-The Financial VP manages the income and expenses of the association.  The financial VP shall submit financial report to the Board and on the Member Meeting.

-The External Communication VP is in charge of contacting and communicating with the other Associations, Societies, Authorities etc. to seek the cooperation opportunities and support.

-The Internal Communication VP manages the communication within members and organizes Quarterly News Letter publishing, Quarterly Seminar and Annual General Assembly.

-The IT VP is in charge of development and maintain Association IT system, Website, Membership Database, and other IT applications or Internet publishing,

-The Technology VP is in charge of assigning Quarterly Seminar Technology Topic, Annual Assembly Technology Contents, and identifies technology application areas etc.

Election of board members

-Board member shall be elected in General Assembly.

-President shall be elected in the Board Meeting.

-Vice presidents and chief secretary shall be nominated by the elected president.

Term of board members

-The term of president and other board members is two years.  The maximum term of the president is two years. The previous president cannot take the role in future.

-The president and other board members can resign from their duty when they are not able to fulfill their obligations anymore.

-The president and other board members shall be resigned when the impeachment is approved by at least 2/3 of all members by vote.

-All members shall be noticed of any significant motion made by the Board of Committee via Internet.  The decision may be executed one week later after the notice.

-The proposed motion, which gets approval of at least 2/3 of board members, can be regarded as qualified committee motion.

-Regarding the written proposal of member, the Board of Committee must reply it formally in one month.

-Members have one week to reply the proposed motion and no objection is regarded as approval for this motion.

-The Board of Committee shall convene at least one Member Meeting each year.  On the annual Member Meeting, the Board of Committee shall deliver annual report to all members, examine financial report and submit budget for the coming year.

There are two types of membership:

-Individual membership

-Corporate membership

Membership

The person who applies the membership shall be evaluated and approved through formal Member Selection Process. The basic requirement are as following

Member Fee

Annual membership fee is 300NOK.
